Behavioral Technician
The Behavior Technician plays a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. This position involves implementing behavioral therapy techniques under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The Behavior Technician will work closely with children and their families to promote positive behavioral changes and enhance their quality of life.
Duties
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
- Collect and record data on client progress and behavior changes.
- Provide direct support to children with developmental disabilities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
- Assist in patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment strategies.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to develop effective care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge in behavioral health.
- Support special education initiatives by working closely with educators and therapists.
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques, particularly in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with children, especially those with autism or other developmental disabilities.
- Proficiency in data collection methods relevant to patient care and behavioral health.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation standards.
- Familiarity with intake processes and patient assessment protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment while maintaining patient confidentiality.
