Job description:
```Duties```
- Assist the head cook in preparing and cooking meals
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines
- Help with menu planning and creating new dishes
- Ensure food quality and presentation meets standards
- Maintain sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining room areas
- Maintain proper/hygienic food handling techniques and the overall sanitation requirements of a food service area and the personnel.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
- Responsible for walking through the dining room during meals communicating with residents regarding satisfaction.
-Responsible for setting up food supplies for special events in coordination with the building Executive Director and Life Enrichment Director
- Maintain regulatory compliance where applicable
```Experience```
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting preferred
- Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
- Familiarity with menu planning and catering practices
- Ability to use kitchen equipment, including knives, safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must have and maintain ServSafe Certification

40 hours per week including weekends & holidays. Shifts: 6am -2pm & 10am - 6pm.
Rate of pay: $16-$18 per hour for this position.
