Inclusion Roundtable - August 2023

Join us for our next inclusion roundtable program for 2023. This roundtable discussion will be around: “I don’t see color." This is a common line used by people with good intentions, but it is ineffective with connecting to others. It prevents us from thinking about our biases, stereotypes, and assumptions. Culture and race are part of someone’s story, but it, alone, does not tell their complete story. Join us as we talk to educator Jennifer Banks, the director of instruction at the Washtenaw County Intermediate School District who developed inclusive classroom programs. We will discuss how the goal with inclusion and connection is to recognize everyone individual experience.
 

Admission is free but registration is required.

ABOUT INCLUSION ROUNDTABLES

As part of the Livonia Chamber of Commerce’s ongoing inclusion and awareness initiatives, the Chamber is partnering with the Livonia Human Relations Commission and Masco Corporation to organize open, informal discussions in a judgement-free environment with local residents and business people to help us engage, increase awareness of, and connect better with more people.

Community-minded people of various backgrounds will lead the sessions and guide the breakout discussions that will help grow your network in business and in the community.
